When we ship Gertrude's we will try to ship in pairs as the males do beautiful displays when trying to attract a female. We recommend a minimum of 4

• Common Names: Spotted Blue-eye, Gertrude’s Blue-eye
• Family: Pseudomugilidae
• Origin: Native to New Guinea and Northern Australia
• Appearance:
• Small size, typically 1 to 1.5 inches in length
• Transparent body with a pale blue hue and yellow fins
• Distinctive black spots on the dorsal, anal, and caudal fins
• Lifespan: 2 to 3 years in captivity
• Temperament: Peaceful, active, and schooling fish, best kept in groups of six or more
• Tank Requirements:
• Minimum tank size: 10 gallons
• Preferred water temperature: 75-82°F (24-28°C)
• Water pH: 6.0-7.5
• Soft to moderately hard water
• Heavily planted tank with plenty of hiding spots and dim lighting
• Diet: Omnivorous, preferring small live foods like brine shrimp and daphnia, as well as high-quality flakes and micro-pellets

• Prefer slightly acidic to neutral water for spawning
